Unity + Awareness - Ignorance = Resiliency

In terms of chess, we are on the verge of losing because of a checkmate. One wrong move, and the country may not be able to come back from its destruction. After the creation of various types of vaccines, most of the countries were able to start rebuilding their fallen economies. Although, the Philippines was once again left behind. Because of the recent spread of the Delta Variant in the country, the number of cases started to rise extremely compared from the past few months. Death counts also increased rapidly. Despite trying to find a solution for this health crisis for almost 2 years already, the country will most likely continue getting vanquished by this deadly virus. It feels like we are stuck in a never-ending loop, when will this truly end?

I never liked how the current Government handled the unfortunate situation that our country is in. I’ve always blamed them for their irresponsibility and incompetence. However, not only the Government failed the Philippines, but also us, citizens. Most of us are still not that educated in terms of politics. A lot of our kababayans are continuously wasting their votes for the wrong candidates, not realizing how their votes would literally decide the state of our country for the next 6 years, or more. Some do not even have the will to register, thinking that regardless if they vote or not, the country will still remain hopeless. Numerous Filipinos have already given up trying to see a light amidst the darkness the country is under right now. They have completely accepted their fate of being one of those unfortunate people who got to live a life like theirs. However, this type of mindset is the sole reason why our country never prospered. This is the reason why we are and continuously will be stuck in a never-ending loop of misery, because us, citizens of the Philippines, have no will to put an end to it.

One of the chances we have right now is the upcoming 2022 elections. I believe that it will be the game changer, the factor that will change the fate of our country. Our future is on the hands of the person that will come out victorious, whether we continue to succumb into darkness, or the country will come back into its glory days. I am still hoping that the Philippines I once knew would come back. The country I described as a bamboo, as resilient and as stoic. No matter how hard every storm pushes us, Filipinos, we always stand up again and get ready for the next storm. I hope that characteristic will remain in our hearts, for us to unite and become one against this virus.

  1. I agree with your point, the future politicians in this upcoming 2022 elections do have the power to change and rule our country to be a better one and also have a greater future, and I'm really hoping for that.
