Let The Spirit of Christmas Shine Through This Crisis

The first week of December is already over, and it still feels like a dream. I haven’t even got the chance to process the things that have happened for the past year, and here we are, on the last month of 2021. I still can’t believe it is already the Christmas Season, roughly 2 weeks left but I am already annoyed every time I hear that one song from Jose Marie Chan. Don’t get me wrong, I totally admire the artist. But come on, that song is beyond overused. Anyways, Christmas is not complete without the decorations. Our household is already fully equipped with the basics we need to feel the ambiance of Christmas within our home. Starting from the Christmas tree, the lights, the parols, and other Christmas decorations. It feels nice to have this ‘once-in-a-year’ vibe again.

In the meantime, upon contemplating about the upcoming holiday, I took time to thank God about the blessings he gave to me and my family, to be able to afford having a celebration this Christmas. I am aware that there are people who won’t be celebrating this special occasion the way we do, because of various reasons. For the past two years until now, the world has been battling with this certain virus, that lead to the birth of numerous problems to each and every individual on this planet. This pandemic caused a lot of people multiple hardships and difficulties that may be the reason why they won’t be able to celebrate Christmas. For instance, due to unemployment, a certain family won’t be able to decorate, have fun, or merely have food during this holiday season. It makes me sad, that only a selective amount of individuals can truly bring out the happiness we should all feel during this season.

Nevertheless, with or without decorations, feast, etc., what matters is we are all happy. It is the season of giving after all, you may not be able to give material stuff and gifts to your loved ones, what matters is how you feel about them. Just like what they say, the real jackpot in a person’s lifetime are the people he/she will soon find and treasure, the same way they will treasure her/him. Christmas is all about spreading love towards the people you value, take time to drop kind words to let them know how special they are to you. Despite this deadly virus roaming around, we should still spread positivity and enjoy this upcoming holiday season with our loved ones.
