Letter for the President: A Call for Resignation

Dear Mr. President,

Hope you are having a pleasant day, Sir. I, Marvie Somera, a Junior High School student from Ilocos Sur National High School, would like to open up my opinions regarding the recent events in our country. For the past few months, I noticed a lot of erroneous decisions from the government. I would like to address the occurrence of corruption and incompetence under your governance. I know for the fact that you've also done good things for this country. For the first three years of your term, you’ve been such a good help for maintaining peace and order inside the country. But enough is enough. Under your regime, our country's debt bloated dramatically. Several funds that has designated use amidst of this pandemic are missing, the commission on audit flagged several government sectors under your wing, but you, being a vehement being, still insists nothing is missing.

Sightings of unidentified aircraft, possibly performing espionage has been reported. The cost per effectiveness of the vaccine you chose is questionable. The innocent people who lost their lives in your war against drugs. And the ones opposing you, whom you probably killed. All of these things are alarming. What's even more bothersome is the fact that you're planning to run for the seat of vice presidency. Your fascist mindset makes you almost a step closer in declaring dictatorship, I can't let such thing happen.

I can't let this country succumb to poverty and rot forever under you and several corrupted politician's rule. I'm calling you and your fellow corrupted politicians to resign now, and not pursue politics, ever again.

Thank you,

Marvie Somera

  3. Nice! You had enough courage to tell the president something many Filipinos are thinking about his leadership, the government and it really is bothersome to solve problems like the war against drugs through killing and the fact innocent people even got involved.
