Beyond This So Called Planet

I often view myself as the superior one among my peers. And I think they see it too, that explains how they always appoint me as their leader. SPG President, classroom president, school representative, I’ve done it all. Most will perceive that I am just another ‘smart girl’ who has dreams of going to different nations, a girl who has the highest possibility to achieve success. However, only I know what I really want to do with this life of mine.

Being born into a middle-class family is quite hard. Don’t get me wrong, I am truly grateful for what I have. Having 3 meals a day alone should be a reason to be thankful, however, I am an ambitious young lady who aspire to have more. I am the type of person who doesn’t settle for less. I always dream big even to the point that it seems unattainable. However, despite the confidence I possess, I have experienced an existential crisis not so long ago. I asked myself, why am I here? What am I meant to do? Thus I stopped putting unnecessary weights on my shoulder, and started finding what will truly make me feel whole and happy.

When I started watching movies and TV shows, I unexpectedly fell in love with science fiction. My curiosity about what lies beyond this planet grew bigger and bigger every moment. Hence, I decided to pursue Computer Science and work hard to contribute more to technology and humanity’s space exploration. It may sound strange, but I would like to be someone who doesn’t spend a lifetime just doing the norm. As far as it goes, I will follow my ambitions even if it goes beyond this ‘so called’ planet.

  1. I've known Marvie for years now and I can say she really is suitable for being a leader. As I read your blog about your life, I know you're a strong, independent woman. I like how you know what you want in life, unlike others who's still undecided on what to do in life, like me. I hope we can be more
    closer together.<3

  2. It's been six years since the day I met you, Marvie. You always had the aura of a good leader. At sixth grade, I learned about your interest in the world of science and space. I like the fact that you're consistent on what you love. Continue to learn in life with curiosity!
